The family centre team have a wealth of skills and experience which they are keen to share with families and carers. We offer a variety of sessions and courses which are based on strong evidence of having positive outcomes for family life. Some of these courses are:
An engaging and interactive course based on how you can become a reflective parent instead of just reacting to situations as they happen. The course is about making the often small changes in how you relate to your child, that can result in dramatic transformations in your family life.
Parenting when separated
A six-week programme for parents who are going through separation and are experiencing isolation and conflict. It can help parents to personally cope, and to co-parent effectively, to ensure their children cope and thrive.
This programme is practical, solution-focused and draws on parents’ strengths. It is suitable for parents who are preparing for, going through or have gone through a separation or divorce. Some of the areas covered in the programme include: solving co-parenting problems in a positive way which focuses on the needs of their children, creating practical arrangements for children that minimise stress and conflict and improving communication with their children and with their children’s other parent.
Welcome to the World
An 6-week group for parents expecting a baby. Parents attend the group from approximately 24 weeks of pregnancy. Topics include empathy and loving attentiveness, infant brain development, healthy eating choices, breast-feeding, infant care, managing stress and difficult feelings, promoting self-esteem and confidence, and the couple relationship.

Parent Puzzle – (10 & 4 week courses)
A parenting programme which aims to give the parents a new insight into how they parent their child/children and to offer suggestions to support a happy family life.
The next 10 week course is online and starts on Tuesday 19th September 7pm-8:30pm until Tuesday 28th November. There will be no session on Tuesday 24th October as it is Half term.
A 4 week programme focusing on relationships within the family, communication, negotiating, decision-making and strategies to reduce conflict.
Session for new parents and parents-to-be
A new weekly nurturing group offering practical and emotional support for parents with very young babies or expectant parents. A great opportunity to meet others and form new friendship groups.
